Relocation of staff and industrial machinery to a new location

The Challenge

Every business wants expansion and growth, it is key to its success. So when Coomber Electronic Equipment Ltd contracted us for their first move in over 30 years to a warehouse and workshop over double the size of their current, our challenge was set.

Trouble free, phased move

Working closely with the client allows us to anticipate and plan for their needs. Our Pre-move planning helped provide a methodical and realistic schedule to mirror Coomber's build schedule for their new location.

Our dedicated Move Manager worked closely with Coomber's departments, and scheduled the move to be completed over a five-week period in three phases.

Project management and planning was the key to success

Phase one

Sequential transportation of all heavy plant machinery, which had to be moved in a specific order around Coomber's production and space implications. Our Heavy Lifting Team completed all moves on time, within schedule and safely repositioned all machinery in accordance with their floor plans the first time with precise accuracy.

Phase two

Phase two included the relocation of all office accommodation, including the packing and unpacking of IT and server equipment, furniture, archive records and associated paperwork. We provided packing crates in advance to ensure a smooth transition. Every aspect was managed closely and accurately, and our client suffered zero loss.

Phase three

This involved the relocation of all factory stock and work in progress, which was a substantial task. Due to Coomber's business obligations, this could not be completed in a single go and needed to be moved in parallel with the rest of the move. We provided a complete schedule, which included contingencies and ad hoc requirements. When Coomber's circumstances changed, resulting in the goalposts being moved, we met their every requirement.
