The Challenges
When Shropshire Council replaced their two-tier local government structure, roughly 1,200 staff needed to move within buildings and between locations across the county. Some of these moves were temporary double moves and included sometimes conflicting and sensitive needs in terms of continuing service delivery.
Our project management working hand-in-hand with the client
We believe in working closely with our clients, so they have their needs met and if changes to the plan need to be made, they can be done quickly and with little disruption. We asked the council to create a move communications team, made up of a core project team and a group of move champions from each department. We provided a dedicated project manager and helpline to provide constant support throughout the move process.
Confidential security and minimal disruption
In addition to sequential file packing and unpacking, file audits and mapping, our packers also packed (sequentially) several thousand metres of confidential filing into filing crates. They were sealed with a one-way cable tie with a unique serial number.
Where possible, we moved storage cabinets fully intact to their new location mechanically, saving the time and disruption of unpacking and re-packing the cabinets.
"BCL proved to be a very efficient, effective, willing, flexible and courteous operation, able to change plans at short notice and adapting to changing timetables in a proactive and collaborative manner. I would have no hesitation in using the company again and recommend them to you".
